Silver Falls School District: Bond Update

Posted Date: 11/04/26 (03:55 PM)

Good afternoon Silver Falls community,

While we await the final election results, we are highly encouraged by the early returns indicating that the Silver Falls School District replacement bond is on track to pass. We want to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude to our voters, students, staff, and community members for demonstrating your commitment to our students, our schools, and our community throughout this process. It has been nearly two decades since we last passed a bond and if these results hold, this historic milestone will move our district forward and enable us to continue to provide a stellar education for our students in modern buildings that will support the educational adequacy that our team believes is essential for our students and staff.

Throughout this process, we have heard clearly from our community about the importance of providing an in-town middle school that reflects the same level of care, pride, and commitment we have for our students, while also honoring the traditions and values of our rural schools. Our students deserve learning environments that reflect how much they are valued by this community. We also recognize that bringing three school communities together into one new school is a significant change. Each school carries generations of traditions, memories, and connections that deserve to be celebrated and honored. We understand that this transition will bring a range of emotions, and we are committed to listening to our families, staff, and community members as we move forward. This bond represents an opportunity to bring together the best of these school communities, preserve what makes them special, and create something new that future generations of students and families will be proud to call their own.

Silver Falls is truly a special school district distinguished by generations of families who have walked the halls of our schools. As we look ahead to this exciting next chapter and work to modernize and improve facilities across the district, we remain committed to keeping our community informed and involved throughout the process. As promised, transparency will be paramount. Pending final certification, the district will form a Bond Oversight Committee. This committee will include various stakeholders from the Silver Falls community. The Districts Bond Website will continue to be the primary resource to stay up to date on the bond progress. In the coming weeks, we will share more specific information about next steps, anticipated timelines, and opportunities for families, staff, and community members to provide input and help shape the future of our schools. Your voices have been essential in getting us to this point, and they will continue to be an important part of ensuring we create learning environments that reflect our community’s values and support our mission of thriving together.

Again, a heartfelt thank you to all of those who expended such great effort to impact the future generations of our unique and beautiful community!

Sincerely,

Silver Falls School Board and Kim Kellison, Superintendent
