The Silver Falls School District is pleased to announce that Vicky Storey has been selected as the district’s next Assistant Superintendent, beginning May 1, 2026.

Storey brings nearly three decades of experience in public education, including roles as a teacher, instructional leader, and school administrator. She most recently served as Assistant Director of Teaching and Learning in the North Santiam School District, where she supported districtwide professional learning, early literacy initiatives, and state assessment coordination. Prior to that role, she served as Principal of Stayton High School, where she led efforts to strengthen school culture, expand student leadership opportunities, and improve graduation outcomes for students.

Throughout her career, Storey has been recognized for her ability to build strong collaborative teams, support educators through meaningful professional learning, and design systems that help students succeed academically and socially. Her experience includes leading district instructional initiatives, coordinating K–12 literacy programs, and supporting instructional coaching and professional learning communities.

The selection process included multiple rounds of interviews and performance tasks designed to assess candidates’ leadership skills, instructional knowledge, and ability to support districtwide improvement efforts.

Superintendent Kim Kellison shared that Storey stood out among a strong group of applicants.

"We had an exceptional pool of candidates, but Vicky’s insight, experience, and deep commitment to supporting both students and educators truly set her apart," Kellison said. "Her ability to build collaborative teams and lead meaningful instructional improvement will be a tremendous asset to our district."

When asked what drew her here to SFSD, Storey responded, “The opportunity to  work with a team of educators who are excited to learn together and do creative work to support students and staff aligns with my experiences and skills. I’m excited to contribute to the great work that Silver Falls is doing.”
