Did You Know? Silver Falls’ Long-Range Facilities and Strategic Planning Is Underway!

Silver Falls School District is currently engaged in two connected, long-term planning efforts: a Strategic Plan and a Long-Range Facilities Plan. Together, these efforts help ensure decisions about programs, priorities, and school buildings are thoughtful, transparent, and aligned with our community’s values.

Both efforts involve staff, volunteers, and community members contributing their time outside of regular hours, all with the shared goal of planning wisely for students and schools.

What is a Strategic Plan?
A strategic plan is a district-wide roadmap that guides decision-making over the next several years. It brings together data and community feedback to identify priorities for student learning, school culture, operations, and partnerships. This process helps define what success looks like for Silver Falls School District and establishes clear goals and ways to measure progress, so improvements are intentional and continuous.

What is a Long-Range Facilities Plan?
A Long-Range Facilities Plan looks 10 or more years into the future to understand the condition and use of school buildings. It examines how facilities support teaching and learning, examines enrollment trends, and explores potential needs and options across the district. This planning does not commit the district to a bond or specific projects, but instead creates a strong, informed foundation for future decisions.

Community members are invited to attend a Facilities Planning Open House on Thursday, January 29, from 6:00–8:00 pm at Butte Creek Elementary to learn more, ask questions, and share feedback.
If you can not make it to the January 29th Open House, we welcome you to join one of our four other sessions this winter to provide direct feedback and ask questions.
Open House Sessions:
 Wednesday, February 4th - Central Howell Elementary, 6pm - 8pm.
 Thursday, February 5th - Silverton Middle School, 6pm - 8pm.
 Thursday, February 12th - Virtual Open House, 6pm - 8pm.
 Tuesday, February 17th - Victor Point Elementary, 6pm - 8pm.
