Did you know? Long Range Facilities Committee members are gaining insight into the district’s learning spaces, including areas that no longer fully meet current needs.
At the last Silver Falls School District Long Range Facilities Committee meeting they reviewed a report on educational adequacy. This report shows how well each facility supports today’s educational programs and learning needs. In addition to learning about unique lunch experiences, the committee also heard about some of the challenges facing music programs.
Music rooms at Central Howell, Victor Point, and the Middle School are strong examples of students and staff making great music in less-than-ideal spaces. These rooms often lack proper acoustic design, have limited or no heating and air conditioning, and are located in a basement, former weight room or on a second floor only accessible by stairs.
Despite these constraints, students continue to learn, rehearse, and perform. Highlighting both the dedication of staff and the importance of understanding how facility conditions directly affect daily learning experiences.
