Silver Falls School District

Where Every Student Thrives

SFSD Long Range Facilities Committee

SFSD Long Range Facility Planning

Following more than a year of focused financial recovery and system stabilization, the district has initiated a comprehensive facilities assessment of all schools. The assessment will provide an objective evaluation of building conditions and long-term needs, with attention to key areas such as HVAC and air quality, safety and seismic readiness, accessibility, building systems, restrooms, and occupancy needs related to enrollment.

To ensure this work is informed by community perspective, the district is also forming a Long Range Facility Committee. The committee will review assessment results, consider potential approaches to addressing identified needs, and develop recommendations for the School Board.

Feedback from the community has underscored the importance of transparency, clear communication, and thoughtful planning that reflects the needs of students across the district. The current process builds on those themes while emphasizing updated data, professional analysis, and broad participation.

The district is committed to keeping the community engaged and informed as this work progresses. Additional updates, opportunities for input, and public discussions will occur as assessment findings are reviewed and planning options are developed.
