Silver Falls School District School Supply Lists

Now updated for the 2023-24 school year.

Many schools purchase supplies in bulk for savings. In lieu of parents furnishing these they request a contribution for supplies. Those schools are noted below.

We will use the middle school-wide binder system adopted in 2020-21 to help students build organizational skills for high school and beyond. All students will follow the same format and binders will be checked by homeroom teachers.

In the pencil box please place their markers, colored pencils, two glue sticks, and scissors labeled with their name. The remaining items will be shared. Please remember to send a WARM coat and GLOVES on cold days. Please label all clothing with a permanent marker. Thank you!

(You do not need much!)

    •  4 folders – horizontal pockets (some kind of design, so we know it’s not your MATH folder!! These are daily back and forth folders.)
    • Coloring supplies (crayons/pencils/markers – whatever you like!)
    • 1-2 rulers (really!) with cm and inches
    • Scissors! (get good ones for you)
    • Pencils and erasers
    • Glue (a little Elmer’s and a glue stick – don’t bring a ton at once!)
  • To Share:
    • Notebook paper – any rule
    • Kleenex/tissue box
    • Cleaning wipes
    • Ear-buds optional (can be kept in backpack for use at school or home). We have headphones at school so this is not crucial.

Look around your house and see what you already have!! Your old backpack is probably in fine shape, and everyone already has a pencil box – even the new kids!!

The following is a general list of regularly used supplies for high school students. Depending on a student’s classes, specific teachers may request students have others supplies as well. This is typically discussed during the first week of class and/or listed in the class syllabus.

  • All math students will need a scientific calculator. The TI-30XIIs is preferred. AP Calculus and Pre-Calculus students need a TI-83 or newer graphic calculator. A limited number of these will be available to check out from the SHS Library.
