After completing an extensive multi-state search, the Silver Falls School District Board of Directors is pleased to announce three finalists have been selected for further consideration to be the next Superintendent of Silver Falls with a term beginning July 1, 2020. The finalists were selected from a field of 28 applicants. The board and screening committee thoroughly reviewed the applications and the board has conducted initial interviews with several candidates. The selected finalists are:

Christopher Bonn

Mr. Bonn is the Superintendent of Public Instruction at Fort Sage Unified School District in Herlong, California. He has 14 years of administrative experience in education including six years as a superintendent in Elgin, Arizona and Herlong, California. Mr. Bonn has a doctorate degree in education in leadership and a master’s degree in education from Northern Arizona University.

Scott Drue

Mr. Drue is the Aloha-Huber Park K-8 School Principal in the Beaverton School District in Beaverton, Oregon. He has 22 years of experience in education including 14 years in administration. Mr. Drue has a master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of Oregon. He completed his licensure program at Lewis and Clark College.

Randy Trani

Mr. Trani is the Superintendent of Corbett School District in Corbett, Oregon. He has 16 years of administrative experience in education including 11 as superintendent of the Corbett School District. Mr. Trani has a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Administration and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from George Fox University, where he also completed his administrative licensure program.

The school board will begin background checks and telephone reference checks for the finalists this week. A virtual “meet and greet” with each finalist is scheduled for Monday, May 4, 2020 starting at 6pm. At that time school district staff and members of the community will have an opportunity to see the candidates and submit written questions to be asked of the candidates during the virtual community forum. The Silver Falls School District will send out additional details as they become available.
