Three Silver Falls Schools Qualify for State Seismic Grant Funds
Business Oregon has just announced the names of the districts and schools selected as 2017 Seismic Rehabilitation Grant Program (SRGP) recipients. Three schools in Silver Falls School District were selected. They include Mark Twain Elementary in the amount of $1,498,575; Robert Frost School (covered play area) in the amount of $351,500 and Silverton Middle School (gymnasium) in the amount of $1,498,100. The SRGP is a state of Oregon competitive grant program that provides funding for the seismic rehabilitation at critical public buildings, including schools. Three schools in Silver Falls School District have qualified in the past two years – Scotts Mills School (completed summer of 2016), Victor Point and Butte Creek Schools (to be completed summer of 2017). The three new grant award projects will be scheduled for completion during the summer of 2018 or 2019.
